- The Integrated CORELOAD™ Plate Carrier is an advanced tactical plate carrier incorporating the patent pending CORELOAD™ load management system engineered to provide the operator with a mobile, lightweight and comfortable gear load vest system. The system is the culmination of several years of research and development between KDH Defense Systems and the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Group. It combines a feature-packed plate carrier with KDH’s CORELOAD™ load distribution system. Both scientific data and operational feedback from Afghanistan have proven that the CORELOAD™ dramatically reduces stress to a soldiers upper body and shoulders. This system is fully modular and can be worn as a full-up combat system as well as a basic plate carrier. The CORELOAD™ foundation allows the operator to scale load management capability as needed and optimally accommodates the weight of all armor and user equipment in a rugged, easy to use vest system.

KDH CORELOAD™ is an integral load management system that effectively controls and redistributes the weight of armor and equipment resulting in improved user comfort and performance.
The foundation of the CORELOAD™ System was developed in a broad research program using Human Factors Engineering principles in conjunction with real world testing. Prototype iterations were refined based on both operator feedback and scientific testing using a custom designed full torso pressure mapping system. The ultimate design is a patented, robust, lightweight system with quantifiable performance.
The CORELOAD™ System utilizes an ergonomically designed padded hip-belt to anchor and control the weight of armor and gear, reducing pressure on the wearer’s shoulders. The hip-belt is connected to the vest using a lightweight internal skeleton offering load support with strategically located articulation points ensuring low profile and maximum flexibility.
In addition to the load bearing elements, CORELOAD™ also incorporates an adjustment system that allows the user to change the vest fit on-the-fly without removing the vest to ensure optimum fit and eliminate bouncing and shifting. This reduces operator fatigue by eliminating chafing, reducing pressure spikes and controlling the center of gravity of the system.
The CORELOAD™ System is offered in the KDH CORELOAD Plate Carrier, but has also been successfully integrated into other modern armor systems including the IOTV and MTV.
